Home

UPDATE:

Chloe and I are at home again. She is much better and her daddy can't tell her she's "full of s" again....LoL

On a fun note....thanks to Arkansas Children's Hospital.......Laura, Hope, Chloe, Me, and Stacy Pollock will be on a journey to Little Rock this afternoon to see RASCAL FLATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chloe was bouncing all over the house when we got the call yesterday! She is very excited about going! (And so am I...hehe).

We are supposed to make a call to a man named Kevin when we get there....we have his cell phone number. Chuck (the man helping set this up) said "not" to "expect" something but not to be surprised either......we have to wear this name badge. The concert starts at 8 but he wants us there at 6.

Anyway, maybe I can sneak some pics and I'll update on Saturday when we get back cause we're spending the night.

What's Shannon doing this weekend??? Putting down ceramic tile in the new house! LoL.

Our Second Home

Well, I hope that everyone is having a great day. Me and Chloe are sitting here in our room at our second home....Arkansas Children's Hospital.

We brought her up on Saturday, she was sick, that dumb doctor in the General Pediatric Clinic said, "keep doing what you're doing." I said, "Doc, what I'm doing isn't working, that's why we're here." I didn't win, he sent us home. Then Dr. Warren, our favorite, called yesterday and said, "I need you to bring her up tomorrow, she's not well." I was like, DUH.....anyway, here we are.

So here we are. The good news is that we should only be here until maybe Friday...gonna be a quick stay for us! I am thankful for that since we are planning to put down ceramic tile in our new house on Friday and Saturday.

What's her diagnosis......well, lets just say that what Mr. Clean always says is proving to be true....she's "full of s***" LoL.

Have a great day folks!

It's Official

Well, it's now official. We are now the proud owners of 415 East Lincoln Street!

I had forgotten about how many papers there was to signing for a house! Shannon asked if we could have a short recess...LoL.

The girls are very excited and can't wait to get into their own rooms. Shannon and I bought them new bedroom suits today. There's just one draw back, we gave the previous owners until March 31 to move out! I wasn't too crazy about doing that, but I guess it's just one of those things that you sometimes have to do.

Well, anyway, I sure hope that they're up to some company, cause I intend to have the "tile guy" in there next week to start on my ceramic tile! They said if there was anything I needed to do while they were still there to come on.

Anyway, now we aren't homeless anymore! Gotta go, hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

We got back from "Spring Fling" last night. We had a great time but I was ready to be at home. There's been "alot" going on lately and I'm just ready to be home.

Our house plans are moving right along. Got a call from the current owners the other day and the first thing she said to me was, "we've changed our minds." I sank in my chair and she began to laugh and said, "I'm just picking on you, we've already began to pack."

It seems my new home caught "alot" of local eyes. Thank God my ship finally came in, because there were alot of people who wanted this home. One of Laura's teachers told her that she wanted the house and when I talked to the current owners, they verified that the teacher had in fact called about the house.

I'm sorry that I ramble on and on so selfishly, I'm just so happy that it's finally OUR turn.....thank God.

On a sad note, I got a call from an old dear friend of mine from my childhood days, and was told that her grandmother, (my childhoold neighbor) had died. This woman was SO special to me.....she took me to church when I was a kid and she even took me to the "light." She was full of youth and I loved her so! The night before Shannon and I got married, my stomach was in total knots, and I went to her....we stayed up until like 2am talking and she gave me tagament, which was by prescription only back then....I got better and I loved her for the "mother" talk she gave to me about being married that night. I always went to her as a teenager with my problems. EVERY day, we'd walk up and down Brown Street, that was really excercise for her cause we walked slowly, but I wouldn't have missed it. I was available to her almost EVERY day when it was time to walk. That's when we TALKED...and I do mean talked....that woman knew every problem and joy I had. She had a dog named Betsi. It was a Laspo Aupso...or whatever. She LOVED her granddaughter and she LOVED her great granddaughter! Her word was "shitfire" and it just tickled me whenever she got mad and used that word. It didn't matter if she was working in the yard, or going to town......she ALWAYS smelled good! She firmly believed in "dusting powder." Another of my favorite memories of her was that at least once a weekend, she'd pick me up in that old gray dodge LONG car and we'd go to town. Usually around 7 at night. Remember that I was like 14 and we'd go to Jr. Food Mart and get a $.25 Pepsi and a bag of peanuts and she'd turn her car around in the parking lot and we'd watch the teenagers out and about around town. I always thought it was her way of taking me out....since I had such a strict dad. She'd just laugh when she'd see someone out on a "date" and she'd go to recalling what it was like for her and Mr. Johnny when they went out. I didn't care about her old car or her age, I looked forward to those times with her. When she took me to the light, she'd always go packing....LoL....to me she was so old......and it was funny that she'd always put her long old gun under the seat. One night we went and there were some drunks out there and started talking about such an old woman being out there and laughing, well she just took her gun out from under the seat and said "I can show you old woman." I was beside myself......then she'd say, "SHITFIRE, I could tell them kids somethings that would scare them to death, I aint' scared, SHITFIRE." Them kids just scattered...it was so funny! I used to go over and help her in her flowers, but I never had a green thumb like she did. Geesh, I could go on and on about her.......I know she will be watching over me now even though she had moved away and had been gone for about 14 years. When I saw her, she looked just like I remembered her.....so....to you Mrs. Hawkins....I'm gonna have our favorite tonight.....ROCKY ROAD ice cream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rest In Peace
